I love nature, I love the rough patterns and bumps, the rugged freedom of new life and old… I love to see nature winning in unexpected places. I find joy in seeing an untamed tree making its way out of a crack in the level compressed cement. The beauty of the beetle’s path under the bark of an old oak tree. I am fascinated by moss flourishing among the strong cold rocks and water running over fallen wood to make it look somehow tame and smooth. Nature reminds me how little control I have over so many things and the incredible strength of the One who created it. It somehow helps me see my place in perspective of the world and those within it. I find such pleasure in the unexpected “win” of natural beauty in nature and I am passionate about pulling nature into my indoor spaces. A rock, a branch or even a blooming seed are potential décor for my home.
Another love of mine is “found things”. Those pieces some might deem as useless or trash are unrealized treasures, pieces of art, waiting for redemption and new purpose. To me, almost everything has beauty, whether already realized, or sitting ripe with potential. (For me, these feelings even extend beyond that of found things, to people, relationships and even one’s character.)
I hope you can be inspired to make your personal spaces into a sanctuary, that you can express the heartbeat of yourself, your family and your friends in your home. Whether your budget is big or small, my hope is that this little offshoot of internet space we all share, will encourage you to dig through what you have, were given or have found and transform it into a redeemed piece of art that can bring you joy and uplift you visually.
On this branch, I hope I may also have opportunity to share longings, lessons and challenges I face every day in my life journey as a wife, mother and follower of Jesus.
So welcome friends… Thanks for sharing life with me. I hope that this little blog will never be that of frustration, jealousy or anger but of hope, life and encouragement.
